David Alderman – Work and Play

David Alderman is an artist based in the North West artist. Alderman is fascinated by the ever changing landscape in and around Greater Manchester.

Alderman attended Salford School of Art in the mid-sixties before concentrating on his career in interior design. Subsequently David has returned to his first love, paintings; his intricate and detailed sketchbooks reveal a passion for drawing which stretches back to his student days. Now living and working in Stockport. David’s multi-layered acrylics capture the essence of the changing landscape and cityscape of the North West of England in a new millennium.

David’s work principally finds favour with collectors of Northern Art however his vibrant. Multi-layered acrylics on board, perfectly capture the process of ‘Manchester Rising’.  His love and understanding of colours, and how they react with each other, allow him to create beautiful paintings of the cityscape. David paints evocative recalled locations and people all across Manchester and Salford, with simplicity and vigour. Each with a back story, in a distinct style with collectors both in the UK and overseas.
